Looking for a challenge – to test yourself, to get in shape, or bond with friends on a weekend adventure? If so, an Ultra Challenge
is for you – and you don’t need to be a budding elite athlete – they’re for everyone, take it on at your pace! Whether along stunning coastlines, or trails through wonderful countryside, your Ultra Challenge will be unforgettable – with full support all the way, camaraderie, an amazing sense of achievement, and all in support of Frank Water.

Walk, Jog, or Run at your pace on the Ultra Challenge Series event of your choice. Join 35,000 others of all ages and take on an unforgettable Challenge in 2025! It will be rewarding, fun, and absolutely achievable with your resolve and determination alongside first-class support. There’s regular rest stops with free food & drink, a fully signed route, and a great atmosphere.

London Winter Walk

Sat 25 and Sun 26 Jan – A great event to walk off the Christmas and New Year celebrations, and maybe kick start a new fitness regime! There are Full Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K walking options, and a new accessible family fun 5K option on Sunday. All walks start and finish at The Oval Cricket Ground, and take in highlights of the Thames, its historic bridges, and many of the Capital’s landmarks. Sign up as a team, or an individual and families are welcome; there’s rest stops with snacks, a special medal, and hot food at the finish!

Bath 50 Ultra Challenge

Sat 29 Mar – New for 2025 and a great opener to the Ultra Challenge season! Centred on this elegant historic city,  take on a 50 km Ultra, testing 25 km, or a sharp 10 km challenge at your pace. From our Bath Racecourse basecamp, 2000 adventurers will head out on looped routes around and through Bath – with fantastic panoramic views, past the famous Royal Crescent, and taking in many of the city’s sights and sounds and the surrounding countryside. You’ll get full support, and a celebration finish back at basecamp.

Easter 50 Challenge

Sat 12 Apr – Take on a 50 km Ultra, a historic 25 km, or a sharp 10 km challenge, and make it an active Easter! From a Windsor Racecourse basecamp, 2000 adventurers will head out on looped routes through the Great Park with fantastic views of the Castle, on to Runnymede, along the Thames Path, and take in some wonderful surrounding countryside. You’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food and drink, and a celebration finish back at basecamp.

Isle of Wight Challenge

3-4 Apr – Great challenges need great settings, and up to 2,000 adventurers will take on a stunning coastal path – all out to push themselves further. It’s along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up Cowes. For Full Island challengers, it’s on to Ventnor, and back to our welcome basecamp in Chale after an epic 106km journey. You’ll get full support and hospitality, and there are also options for shorter distances: 3/4, 1/2, & 1/4 Island Challenges and a 10-mile ‘Medina Estuary’.

Jurassic Coast Challenge

17-18 May – Take on the spectacular World Heritage coastline. Starting in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups and downs to Weymouth halfway. For full 100 km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and on to West Bay (of TV’s Broadchurch) – before a finish line celebration in the vibrant town of Bridport. Great 3/4, half, a Weymouth Marathon, 1/4, and the Bridport 10K routes are available.

London 2 Brighton Challenge

24-25 May – The ‘original Ultra Challenge’ where 2,000 adventurers will take on the Capital to Coast route and test their grit and determination over the weekend. Richmond-Upon-Thames is the start, and it’s over the North Downs with wonderful Surrey and Sussex countryside to halfway at Turners Hill. The full 100 km route heads over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes into view. You’ll get full support and hospitality all the way – and with 3/4, half, marathon, and 1/4 quarter distance options – there’s a classic challenge for everyone!

Lake District Challenge

7-8 June – Take on England’s finest countryside at your own pace. The basecamp is in Kendal, and it’s a 100km loop taking in a couple of tough hills, the Garburn Pass, historic Ambleside, a halfway point by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves – with some stunning views en route, before a huge welcome and celebration back at basecamp after a momentous journey. You’ll get full support and hospitality, optional camping/hostel – and with half, marathon, 1/4, and 10K distance options, there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone!

Cotswold Way Challenge

21-22 June – Starting at Cirencester basecamp, the 100 km loop route through the heart of the Cotswolds, provides a stunning setting for 2,000 adventurers to test themselves. Rolling hills, villages, the Cotswold Way, footpaths, and trails, with some fabulous views en route. You’ll get full support and hospitality, including optional ‘university style’ accommodation at basecamp, and with 3/4, half, 1/4, a Cirencester 10 km distance option also – there’s a Cotswold’s Challenge for everyone.

Peak District Challenge

28-29 June – Our basecamp hub in idyllic Bakewell will welcome over 3,000 adventurers who will test themselves in the fabulous Peak District National Park.  There’s a full range of camping options, car parking, and extensive hospitality and welfare services across the weekend – with a full 100km Challenge through a tough and varied figure of 8 route through Derbyshire’s finest scenery. You’ll get full support, and with 3/4, half, 1/4, and 10-mile distance options that also pass Chatsworth House – there’s a Peak District Ultra Challenge for everyone!

Gower Penisula Ultra Challenge

19-20 July – New for 2025, set in the stunning Gower Peninsula, the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and famous for its golden beaches, limestone cliffs, wild moors, ridges, and woodlands. Our basecamp is on the grounds of the historic Penrice Castle, with weekend camping options. The 100km challenge is a figure of 8 route made up of west and east loops which take in the best of the Peninsula, its history, and its varied, unique landscape. With 50km, Marathon, 25km, and 10K challenge options, as well as a bar and entertainment at basecamp – this will be the highlight of the season!

North Downs 50 Challenge

We’re back on the North Downs with a fabulous challenge starting from our Guildford basecamp. A looped 50 km route that takes in some of the best of the Surrey hills, the North Downs Way, and the surrounding countryside – with real variety and some wonderful scenery and fabulous views out to the south – and easily accessible from London! You’ll get full support and hospitality, and with 25 km and 10 km options also available, and optional University style accommodation at basecamp –  there’s a North Downs Ultra Challenge waiting for you!

South West 50 Challenge

Sat 2 Aug – A fantastic ‘South West’ summer challenge, taking in the first Minehead section of the famous 630-mile Coastal Path, and with an extensive ‘basecamp’ in the shadows of the impressive Dunster Castle. The 50 km loop then heads over Exmoor with ups and downs and some magnificent views with over 1600 metres of climb. You’ll get full support all the way, and with 25 km options also, plus a family-friendly 10K event – along with weekend camping packages and festival-style hospitality at basecamp – there’s a South West Coast Ultra Challenge for everyone!

London Summer Walk

Sat 23 Aug – Get your walking shoes on and explore some of the Capital’s less-known historic areas with a tour of the ‘gateway to London’ along the Thames’s eastern section. Starting alongside the grandeur of Woolwich Royal Artillery Barracks – the special 50km looped route which heads into the heart of the Capital – alongside the long-standing 25km option taking in Greenwich – and a family-friendly 10km option if you’re after something a bit shorter! Routes steeped in history with iconic sights, a lively warm up, full support, and capped with a BBQ meal, bar and music at the finish – making for a wonderful end-of-summer celebration!

South Coast Ultra Challenge

6-7 Sep – The South Downs National Park is a superb backdrop for 2000 adventurers to take on a real challenge. An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the South Downs Way, with stunning views over the sea, to a Brighton halfway. Devil’s Dyke, and a few ups and downs lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an amazing 100 km journey. You’ll get full support and hospitality all the way – and with half and 1/4 distance options available – there’s a South Coast Ultra Challenge for everyone!

Thames Path Ultra Challenge

13-14 Sep – England’s greatest river provides a fantastic backdrop for an unforgettable challenge. It starts on Putney Bridge, and the full 100km route heads upstream to Henley along the famous Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor, with wonderful scenery to a riverside finish line. With 3/4, half, 1/4 distance options also available – plus the separate 25km ‘Thames Bridges Trek’ & ‘The Moonlight 10 Walk’ through Central London as part of the weekend ‘festival’ – there’s a Thames Challenge for everyone!

Thames Bridge Trek

Sat 13 Sep – Join 2500 walkers and trek 25 km across the Capital with unrivalled skyline views and landmarks. From Putney Bridge, it’s East towards the City, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges – each with a fascinating story – and a mid-point rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground for snacks and drinks. 25 km later, beyond the majestic Tower Bridge, it’s a party-style finish line celebration and afternoon picnic in Southwark Park. With a 10 km option – and a Friday evening ‘Moonlight 10’ also available – there’s a fabulous Thames walk for you!

Thames Moonlight 10

Fri PM – Sat 13 Sep – Take on either a spirited 10 km or an energetic 10-mile looped route to walk through the heart of London as darkness falls and the Moon rises. Experience London in a different light, passing famous landmarks – including St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, and more. A lively finish line awaits – with a glass of fizz and a special Moon medal – followed by some welcome hot food and drink.

Chiltern 50 Challenge

Sat 27 Sep – Fabulous 50 km looped challenge in some of the Chilterns’ finest countryside. With historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and fantastic views – this is one not to miss! At the basecamp in Henley, there is a celebration BBQ, bar and entertainment, with extensive on-site camping and parking options. It’s a route with real variety and wonderful scenery – and easily accessible from London. You’ll get full support and hospitality, and with a 25 km and a 10K loop also available, there’s a Chiltern Ultra Challenge for everyone!

Kent Downs 50 Ultra Challenge

Sat 12 Oct – End the Ultra Challenge season in the ‘Garden of England’. A basecamp near Maidstone, with parking and weekend camping options, the main 50km looped route heads anticlockwise around the Kent Downs – starting on the North Downs, around picturesque Aylesford, and following the River Medway. Along to the majestic Leeds Castle, then the North Downs Way back to the showground finish line celebration. It’s easily accessible; you’ll get full support; and 25km & 10K options are also available.

Halloween Walk

Sat 25 Oct – Why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts? Choose your distance with 25km and 10km options, gather your bravest guys and ghouls to make up a team – or go it alone if you dare and meet up with other chilling challengers. Dress to distress and the creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval start and finish will meet, greet, and shock. Once you escape there are ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food and drink – and a souvenir bobble hat to ward off the spirits as
you head off home.
